Carpets

A carpet is a textile floor covering typically consisting of an upper layer of pile attached to a backing. The pile was traditionally made from wool, but since the 20th century synthetic fibers such as polypropylene, nylon, or polyester have often been used, as these fibers are less expensive than wool.

Twist Pile Carpets

Twist Pile carpets are ideal for busy families. They are made by twisting the yarn tightly together and then cutting it off, which makes them hardwearing and easy to look after. They are a lot more forgiving than plush piles if you don’t want to see the vacuuming marks or footprints. You can select from various shades of twist piles from plains to the modern & contemporary two-tones.

Plush Pile Carpets

With this style of carpet, the tuft ends are all blended together to create a smooth surface with a soft feel underfoot. Temporary shading from footprints is a characteristic of this carpet style. Plush pile carpets look stunning in more formal rooms, such as sitting/waiting rooms, foyers, lobbies and lavish apartments.

Patterned Loop Pile

Patterned loop pile carpet also known as Hi-Lo loop piles. This is made when the loops remain uncut and the loops have multiple heights, the result is a patterned loop carpet. This can be in the form of a design or pattern like the ever-green square pattern design.

Level Loop & Cut pile Carpets

All carpets are constructed of loops made from various types of yarn. Each is a loop pile carpet at the outset, some having level loops and others having multi-level loops. In a cut-and-loop carpet, as the name indicates, some loops are cut while others remain intact. Cut-and-loop carpet should not be confused with cut pile carpet. Cut pile carpet is a style where all the loops are cut. This is done by machine to ensure uniformity.

Textured Loop & Cut Pile Carpet

This is similar to the loop pile but different in terms of the height & uniformity of the loops. This style is equally known for its very soft feel. Two-toned yarn and an uneven surface give it a casual look suited for any room. Its tight-twist construction helps resist soil, so it’s often a good choice for family rooms and kitchens. This is a popular carpet option and the one you see in quite a few modern homes.

Level Loop Pile Carpets

Level loop refers to tufted, uncut loops of equal height, resulting in a very smooth surface. It’s durable, easy to maintain, and a great carpet for high-traffic areas and informal rooms. Level loop is, however, known to be harder and stiffer than the other carpet options.

Sisal Style Carpets

Sisal carpets are woven from natural plant fibres. Like a jute, coir, or hemp rug, it has properties of durability and resilience that many artificial materials can’t provide. Sisal carpets are strong and beautiful and can be a lasting addition to a living room, bedroom, office, or hallway, because of their unique advantages.

Wool Berber Carpets

Berber features large, uncut loops of natural-tone fibres, varying in size and usually made from wool. It is denser than most other carpets and very stain resistant. This is not an ideal choice for houses with animals, especially cats, as their claws can snag on the fibres.

Floral Pattern Carpet

Floral design carpets, as the names suggest, have interesting floral patterns and designs crafted in the form of a loop & cut pile, or hi-lo loop pile. Designing a traditional themed house or property with these types often give it a stunning natural look.

Shaggy Carpets

The pile tufts are very long and create a low-density construction because the spacing of the tufts is more open than other carpet constructions. It’s great for giving you that luxurious feel to your feet. There’s a general trend of installing these in living rooms and or in home theatres.
